Answer Tuesday!

This segment is brought to you by Roman Meal, the official bread of Caesar, proudly feeding the legions since 2001 A.D.

Q: With the leadership of the USC Song Girls having been caught in an irrefutable act of revisionist history, will they now try to also airbrush Sarah Carmona out of all old Song Girl pictures and claim she was never on the squad?

A: I'd imagine you could airbrush until there is nothing but a blank space instead of a photo.

Q: Was the athletic dept. angry at you for asking why Alison left the squad? Did they seem defensive? Did you bring up the real issue of the number of units required to be on the squad and how it's been continually ignored in order to include certain girls? What has been the general attitude of the athletic dept. regarding Song Girlgate? Are they still in denial over all the exposed corruption, cronyism, and nepotism that goes on in the squad? Has there been any blatant actions done towards you to let you know of their displeasure in providing a forum for students, alumni, and fans to state their grievances over the complete and utter failure of the squad this decade?

A: I would say surprised instead of angry. No mention of the units was made, only the official explanation. Yes, denial exists in the selection quarters. The last blatant action occurred right before the Ohio State. I never mentioned the specifics here because I felt it was too embarrassing to the person involved who did it and showed some petty behavior that they would one day regret. But I wasn't surprised.

Q: I was hoping you could clarify the redshirt rules.
Stafon burned his redshirt with a few carries part way through his freshman season, why does Vidal still have the opportunity to do so now?
If Vidal is still eligible this far into the season, could Stafon do the same and transfer for his senior season?

A: If you participate in one play in the season you cannot redshirt, unless you are hurt. However, if you get hurt, you must play in less than 25 percent of the games and cannot play past the fourth game. Johnson never got hurt. Hazelton could possibly redshirt although his ankle injuries might not be season ending. We should find out this week.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
