Answer Monday, Part VI
I'm getting emails from people who said they miss Lawry's at the Coliseum, so if you feel that way, you are not alone.
Q: I know you give us your grade for each section of the team after each game is over, but is it possible to do it for individual players, upon request,----if it is, then I would like the start with the starting OL for the Beaver game----if that is too much, then could you just single out a couple of players for praise or criticism; eg, we all know Everson messed up, Clay played well, etc. As always, thank you very much.
A: If you ask, I will try to answer. But I doubt I'll be able to do too many players because there isn't that much time.
Q: Whose legs were added to that song girl in the airbrushed/Photoshopped picture? I have seen other pictures of that song girl and those are not her legs, so whose legs are they? Did you also notice the fake pompoms that were added to the picture? Just what, if anything, is real with the song girls these days?
A: The criticism?
Q: You wrote about the pro scout who said that SC had their linebackers stacked out of place, and that the free safety tipped the defense as to the coverage. Do you agree, and, if so, why isn't that more than obvious to the SC coaches?
A: Every coach/scout has different opinions on strategy. I talk to people who offer another point of view. I know the free safety in Pete Carroll's defense usually plays a safety net role. I mentioned in another segment I would probably be more aggressive, but that's just my opinion.

I know it's worked out pretty well for them but the safety net/soft zone schemes always bothered me. With the athleticism in the Trojans secondary they should be able to handle the more aggressive roles Wolf is talking about.
And I'd love to see Lawry's back at the Coliseum.
Did I just agree with Wolf... twice?
I think I just died a little inside.
"I know the free safety in Pete Carroll's defense usually plays a safety net role."
The "safety" playing the role of a safety. Wow! Scott, your insight is peerless.
Is that like when a reporter plays the role of reporting? or a journalist playing the role keeping a journal?
