Answer Monday, Part V

Q: With the Oregon State loss, and rival programs like BYU and Notre Dame winning has it affected USC recruiting? Are there commits like Randall Carroll and Shaquelle Evans thinking about decommiting and how are players like Manti Te'o, Rueben Randle, and Devon Kennard on USC?

A: Recruits are always reviewing their options but one loss does not change their opinion. If USC lost 4 games, then it's a different story. But they've had strong recruiting classes every 11-2 season. Carroll and Evans are soft commits but the fact Evans is even that would surprise anyone who spoke to him last winter. Kennard should commit at some point and Te'o remains very interested. Randle might be more difficult. But I wouldn't fret about the season's effect unless things went south quickly.

Q: Since you have a vote for the Heisman can you give us a weekly "mock" ballot of 6-8 players who you think are the best players deserving of winning the award in a format like you do for your Top 25 ballot? Ithink it would be interesting to see how voter views players and games. Also, who do you is the best USC player currently with a chanced to win, is it Mark Sanchez?

A: Sanchez is probably the only candidate right now. He is a quarterback and he is putting up pretty good numbers, other than the Oregon State game. But he will need to stay healthy. The USC quarterback position pretty much makes you a Heisman candidate, sort of like the tailback position used to during the Tailback U. days.
I'll try to list 6-8 players if I have time this week.

Q: The photoshopped USC Song Girl expose has been picked up by numerous other websites and has become a national story, which seemingly appears to be a weekly occurrence now with the neverending Song Girl scandals of this year. Many of these websites are saying that the girl who was airbrushed out left the squad for reasons other than what is being reported by the athletic department. Can you get the bottom of this latest Song Girl scandal?

A: I can ask around but it's difficult because I am public enemy no. 1 for the selection committee, etc. That's why last Saturday was great, because the Oregon group was so friendly and down to earth.

Q: Is it possible to give us the traveling list for players to Corvallis? If not, then how about the 'participation' list?

A: These are the reserves that played. 07-Hazelton, Vidal, 06-Smith, Malcolm, 08-Johnson, Ronald, 02-Gable, C.J., 17-Morgan, Michael, 18-Buehler, David,
44-Woidneck, Greg, 9-Ausberry, David, 13-Johnson, Stafon, 14-Green, Garrett, 15-Thomas, Kevin,17-Patterson, T., 18-Williams, D., 19-McAllister, D., 21-Bradford, Allen, 26-Harris, Will, 27-Jones, Marshall, 35-Kaveinga, Uona, 37-Campbell, J., 40-Ellison, Rhett, 44-Tupou, C., 45-Goodman, Adam, 47-Matthews, Clay, 56-Parsons, Alex, 62-Pousson, Chris 76-Howell, Nick, 77-Herring, Thomas, 81-Washington, G., 85-Stephenson, C., 89-Ayles, Blake, 91-Casey, Jurrell.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
