Looks like the start of the season is a week or so later than it had been, so consequently the Kings will actually be playing 6 games in April... LOL... that's something different, for sure!

I find it curious that we're playing the majority of the second half of the season on the road. I'd like to think the league would try and spread it out more evenly. Also, a young team would probably benefit more from being on the road to start the season rather than be at home. Gives them more time to gel. Just my .02.

opener AND closer against SJ? that's a bit odd... and not a single home or road against Anaheim on the weekend. strange (luckily I live 6 minutes from the Pond)

I also think they should balance out the home/road games as others said. is something going on at Staples from Feb - April we don't know about?

Count me in on those 3 games at Anaheim.
11/4/08
1/6/09
2/18/09
I'll be waering my Robitaille jersey while I antagonize those crazy quack fans.

I wish it were here already.
Go Kings.

brianguy said:

ok Sunday 16th @ Anaheim guess that's the only one I'll be seeing them play the duckies

Anyone else find it annoying that the Kings get so few Sunday games? 4 games total all season...

It's about time they came back to OTT/MTL/BUF!

Brianguy,

There are two VERY big events that occur annually at Staples Center between February and April which force the Kings, Clippers and Lakers all to hit the road for an extended period of time. The PAC-10 basketball championship tournament and the Grammy Awards.

brianguy said:

Anon... yeah I find that a little unusual. at least the home opener is Sunday

Is this thing on????

WOW! How are we all going to feel going 1-8 in October??? 2-11 in November?? 3-12 In December???1-10 in January?? 0-13 in February???? 3-12 in March??? And of course 5-6 in April???

Vic Venasky said:

The Kings never play many Sunday home games. That day belongs to the Lakers.
It seems odd the NHL has the Kings and Ducks both opening at home on the same day.

jom said:

There seems to be an over abundant games at home on Friday and Sunday...early in the season. Even in November, which seems late for that. Like you said the Lakers usually play home on Firday and Sundays. Odd.

Tim said:

From Feb. 2009 to the end of the season we have 23 road games and ONLY 11 home games.

What a joke

sasKing said:

27 of our final 39 games are on the road...

Good thing we won't be in the playoff hunt.
