Hoffenberg takes third in Pacific Coast Amateur

Matt Hoffenberg of Simi Valley shot a second consecutive 4-under 66, equaling the low round of the day, to tie for third Friday at the Pacific Coast Amateur at Royal Colwood in Victoria, British Columbia.
Hoffenberg, the Southwestern Amateur champion, finished at 6-under 274, three strokes behind Jordan Irwin of Calgary, Alberta, who rallied from three shots down on the back nine to edge Ryan Hallisey of Granite Bay by one stroke.
Nick Delio of Valencia shot an even-par 70 in the final round and finished at 8-over 288.
