Nicklaus on steroids

Jack Nicklaus was in town Sunday to accept the Roy Firestone Award, presented by the West Coast Sports Associates.
During his interview with Firestone Sunday night, Nicklaus had this to say about drugs in golf - or what he believes to be a lack thereof - in golf. He certainly disagrees with Gary Player, who earlier this year said he knows there are players taking drugs. The PGA Tour is devising a drug-testing policy for next season.
``Basically, golf is drug-free, a steroid-free game,'' Nicklaus said. ``I don't think you'll find any. The players have been the rules committee. You always govern yourself. If anybody has been (doing drugs), they're cheating themselves. I don't think you'll find it. They're just not there.''
