Newslite Online: Hard tiems for Britney, Delta Burke and Kirstin Dunst...
I ran into the very funny actor Leslie Jordan at the post office Thursday morning and we just started jabbering away.
But our chit-chat soon turned into an impromptu interview.
My first question to the Emmy winner was about his frequent co-star Delta Burke who is currently getting treatment for depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
“She’s doing really, really well,” Leslie assured me
.
He has been getting regular updates from writer-director Del Shores who he said speaks with Delta every day.
Delta, the former beauty queen turned comedy star (“Designing Women,” “Popular”), had been set to co-star with Leslie in the TV series version of Shores’ cult hit film “Sordid Lives.” She and Leslie had also toured the country in Shores’ play “Southern Baptist Sissies.”
“She told Del that she just didn’t think she’d be up to it,” Leslie said of Delta, who has been replaced by on the series by Caroline Reah.
Delta has gone through hard times before, including a near-nervous breakdown during the run of “Designing Women.” But this beautiful Southern belle has always re-emerged better than ever.
Leslie said the actress wanted to keep things quiet was TMZ.com was tipped off and her treatment became public on Wednesday.
TMZ just doesn’t miss a thing.
For some reason, I decided to tell Leslie that the funniest scene in the series finale of “Will & Grace” (he had a recurring role as the nemesis of Megan Mullally’s during the show’s run) was when the diminutive actor’s character literally was got caught in a gust of win that blew out a high-rise window to his death.
“You are the second person to tell me that this morning!” Leslie said.
Then he shared this fun anecdote: for the classic scene, he was lifted off of the ground and into the air by a device that did it with such ferocity that it literally lifted him right out of his shoes.
His only regret is that a shot of his abandoned shoes, left on the floor, did not make the final cut.
That, woulda been a hoot!

The sight of Britney Spears back on the streets again - with paparazzi in tow - is sickening. Does anyone remember Princess Diana?
Something Joy Behar said Thursday morning on “The View” really hit home with me. It was about how famous people - and the people who hound them - never really seem to learn their lesson.
Princess Diana was chased for 17 years by the paparazzi and eventually was killed trying to flee them one night in Paris.
Will Britney suffer a similar fate?
Her parents, Lynne and Jamie Spears, fear for her life but seem hamstrung in their efforts help their child who is in the throes of a mental health crisis.
Behar also drew a comparison in the deaths of Heath Ledger and Marilyn Monroe. We learned this week that the Oscar-nominated star of “Brokeback Mountain” died last month from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.
This is eerily similar to Monroe’s cause of death more than 45 years ago - unless you believe the various murder conspiracy theories surrounding it.

Speaking of troubles stars, we unfortunately have to add “Spider-Man” star Kirsten Dunst to the list. The actress has checked into Cirque Lodge clinic in Utah.
Kirsten reportedly broke down in tears when she checked into the treatment facility which is where Lindsay Lohan had a two-month stay last year and where Eva Mendes is currently being treated.
Let’s hope this talented actress, who burst onto the scene as a child actress in 1994’s “Interview With a Vampire,” holding her own opposite leading men Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.
Best of luck to her.
