TMZ.com reports that GARY COLLINS, talk show host ("Hour Magazine" and "The Home Show") and husband of former Miss America Maryann Mobley, was arrested in Sherman Oaks in a drink driving incident that makes Keifer Sutherland's little incident look like a tea party. Collins allegedly lost control of his car as he had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. Hew smashed into a car and caused a chain of collisions.
According to People.com: Collins was driving a Ford Explorer at about 5:30 p.m. when a Toyota driven by an 89-year-old man allegedly failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with Collins, said Los Angeles police officer Norma Eisenman. Collins's car then hit two parked cars.
"When officers arrived on the scene, they detected alcohol on Collins's breath," Eisenman said. "He failed a field sobriety test, and was booked for misdemeanor DUI. He was cooperative."
Collins, who was not injured, was taken to the Van Nuys Jail, and later bailed out at $40,000. The other driver was listed in critical condition at a local hospital. Collins's arraignment is set for Nov. 16.
