Saturday morning brew...and afternoon blend...

Even Hollywood Joe has to spend a little time with his family. But I wanted to give you your daily fix of celeb goings on in one big, steaming cup. Let's start with Keanu Reeves OK? This is a very good looking man. Very. But right now, he's sporting the most hideous beard since Brad Pitt grew a really long one for a movie he ended up never making. If Keanu grew this thing for a role, I hope he got a hefty paycheck...Oscar de la Hoya has broken his silence about all that fishnet stocking stuff. Pics were all around the blogoshere of Oscar - well, at least his head - seemingly wearing fishnet stockings like it wasn't the first time he'd done it. I thought he looked terrific, even though I'm not really into cross-dressers. Well, Oscar is finally speaking out and he wants the world to know that they are PHOTOSHOPPED!!! ...I don't know about you, but I just couldn't sleep after I found out Pink was splitting from the tatooed skateboarder Cory Hart. Just kept pacing the apartment: "Pink and Cory, apart? Nooooo!" OK, kidding. But here's the good news: the are NOT splitting up! Friggen gossip sheets got it all wrong...It looks like Paris Hilton doesn't have a sense of humor about her little jail stay last summer. The heiress and wanna-be Angelina (apparently she's making a humanitarian trip to RWANDA!) was on Letterman last night and, of course, he made fun of her. I mean, what else is there to do? Talk about world peace? Hair extensions? Her boyfriend of the week? Gee, that's kinda mean of me. Oh well, too late to take it back, have already typed it...Remember the publicist who tried to extort $1 million from Tom Cruise for stolen wedding pictures? I barely do either. But the news is that this guy, whose clients have included Tonya Harding among others, killed himself. He faced up to two years in prison in the Cruise photo case.....and finally, Madonna has been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She doesn't really send me, i don't own a single Madonna CD. But she has managed to remain relevant in the music industry for 25 years, pretty much non-stop, and she seems to be a shoo-in for induction. And let's face it, with Madonna there, it'll certainly be a memorable awards ceremony!

One more thing! I asked director Robert Benton at the "Feast of Love" premiere this week what he thought of the controversial Emmy speech given by Sally Field last weekend (Benton directed Field in "Place in the Heart" which won her a second Academy Award:
"I love Sally and I thrilled that she won. She's a great actor and deserved to win. I thought it was a terrific speech and I don't think it would have corrupted anybody's mind if they'd heard it. They may have disagreed with her but I don't think there was anything wrong, in the least, with what she said. She's a friend of mine and I love her and I think she's one of the heroic people."
Greg Hernandez craves a daily fix of celebrity news the way some
people need their daily cup of joe. He's made it his mission to show
up to as many Tinseltown events as he's allowed into, to talk to any
famous faces that don't run from him, and to give readers several
daily shots of the day's breaking news.
