Another Black Eye
I'm sure some Obama bashers will say, "Well, for every fake story about a black man attacking a white woman and branding her with a scarlet "B," five such real events take place without drawing MSM coverage."
I did have a good talk yesterday with my pseudonymous friend "John Galt," and we both understood each other better about what can push our buttons when engaging in "friendly fire" on this site. I admitted that I can be oversensitive when I feel that I'm being mocked: Sure, I may make fun of Sarah Palin, but I long ago figured she's not reading my posts and taking them personally. John for his part noted that some of his well-intentioned sarcasm can be taken the wrong way.
I do still believe that anonymity is problematic and excessive in this era of message boards and chatrooms. It makes it easier to jab harder than we might if there were an Internet trail back to our real name.
In the next few days, I do intend to discuss here, with John, some of his contentions about how Obama would hurt the free markets and tax system. I believe Greenspan's testimony yesterday signifies that a reappraisal of market economics is inexorable.

I don't know which was more disturbing - the story of this TEXAS woman or news that the former alleged victim in the Duke rape case wrote a book. Think about this ho the next time a publisher turns down your manuscript. Doesn't make sense.
On another note, I was thinking of something on the way to work this morning. On the one hand, communist China has moved to a market-oriented economy, and on the other hand, this country is moving more toward a planned economy. Which country is on the rise? Doesn't make sense.
It's a good point about China's move to free markets. The major global economic pattern, though, is state-sponsored capitalism. China loosened up, though they're still not as loose as us and aren't interested in being as loose as us.
Further regarding this white Tawana Brawley chick, I can only envision how this scam will play out on MSNBC or in the New York Times - Senior McCain adviser and operative, working in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania, takes dirty politics to a new level and in the process makes Nixon and CREP look like lightweights.
Well, there is this comment by Fox News' executive vice-president John Moody: "If the incident turns out to be a hoax, Senator McCain’s quest for the presidency is over, forever linked to race-baiting."
Again, that's from a top Fox news exec.
...And while the Fox guy's comment may have seemed a stretch, the fact that McCain and Palin both called Ms. Todd personally afterward seems to make it less of a stretch.
