Oscar 80YO: still got it!

While the stars were looking extremely polished for "Hollywood's biggest night," at the tender age of 80, Oscar was still the one getting the googly eyed affections of many.

Tilda Swinton, Diablo Cody, Javier Bardem and...others who went ga-ga for the gold:

Oscar 80YO: bare naked deltoids.

Red may have been the color trend of the evening, but the one-shoulder dress - Diane Lane, Anne Hathaway, Katherine Heigl, to name a few - was the cut favored by Hollywood's most recognized upper bods.

Oscars 80YO: it never rains...

nicKID_closeup.jpg...but it did get a little icy when a pregnant Nicole Kidman stepped on the red carpet wearing a Balenciaga dress and a 1400 carat necklace by L'Wren Scott.

Oscars 80YO: ruby (and) red.

I guess red hot red is what's hot for the red carpet this evening (whew!). And why not?? The powers of such a color:

It makes other not-so-famous faces red with envy.

AnneHath_fin.jpg

It says, "I am a supermodel...and you...arre owt!"

It goes well with a bologna sammich.

"American Gangster" star Ruby Dee keeps tops her classic red look off with a classy vintage gold Daniel Swarovski clutch.

Oscar 80YO: gimme that academy award-worthy love.

Something you should know about actress Diane Lane, in David Meister dress, and hubby/"No Country for Old Men" star Josh Brolin.

It's their world.

We're just the sorry saps that pretend to gag at their sweet public displays of affection while secretly aspiring for that kind of shared success and love (not to mention hotness) with our significant other.

(*sigh*)

Oscar 80YO: hollywood, montana

Miley Cyrus and mom hit the red carpet at the award show.

miley.jpg

Unfortunately for the "Hannah Montana" star, there's no Oscar for Film with the highest number of screaming tweens Award...but don't cry for Miley...

miley2.jpg

She'll be laughing all the way to the bank with a check too big to fit in her Swarovski crystal-encrusted Mary Norton clutch.

Oscar 80YO: oh my goth.

Tilda...

Tilda...

Nominee Swinton brought the drama with her role as the corporate tool and real-people-eating-for-lunch role in "Michael Clayton."

Unfortunately, the combination of this shapless Lanvin dress and a make-up-less face failed to excite in the same way.

Oscar 80YO: red-y, set, go.

helenM2.jpgOscar winner (and every-other-award winner) Helen Mirren set the red carpet fashion tone in a red Georges Chakra gown. helenM.jpg

Possibly...passing the baton onto potential Best Actress winner Marion Cotillard, in Jean Paul Gaultier dress.

Scales haven't looked this good on a woman since Ariel.
